For more than 50 years, Cumberland Container has manufactured quality packaging for clients across the Southeast. Through innovative design and significant investments in advanced manufacturing processes, Cumberland Container continues to make its customers its top priority.
In November 2020, Cumberland will add the next advancements to its cadrie of manufacturing equipment with the installation of its new Apstar 3-color (expandable to 5) Rotary Die Cutter and an AG Stacker. This installation will replace two other machines and do their combined work in ¼ the time it previously took
Additionally, this Apstar can be expanded to print 5 colors including 1 or 2 colors for inside print on one pass for more complex jobs in the future.
Cumberland Container expanded its shipping fleet with the addition of two new Freightliner Cascadia tractors. This increase brings its total shipping capabilities to 8 tractors outfitted with electronic logging and GPS, one box truck for smaller deliveries, more than 50 trailers and a team of expert drivers who all have over 20 years of driving experience. The new Cascadia trucks are the first in Cumberland’s fleet to have automatic transmission and were purchased with the full array of the most advance safety technology. The new trucks complete the almost total replacement and upgrade of Cumberland’s fleet in less than 4 years.
“Getting our customers their packaging safely and on-time is very important to us,” said Phillip Key, shipping manager. “Our management continues investing in our shipping capacity because on-time delivery is an investment in our customers’ success. Cumberland enjoys a 96%+ on time shipping record."
To help reboot the state’s economy, The Tennessee Pledge: Reopening Tennessee Responsibly was developed by Governor Bill Lee, the Unified Command Group (UCG) and Tennessee’s Economic Recovery Group (ERG) with input from health experts, state and local partners and business and industry leaders, and includes specific recommendations which enable most businesses to reopen responsibly without the burden of heavy mandates.
Cumberland Container has remained open as an essential business during the pandemic and has always been committed to a safe working environment for its valued employees. In a commitment to The Tennessee Pledge, Cumberland has taken steps to reduce the impact the COVID-19 virus could have on its operations by installing a state-of-the-art Power Breezer. The Power Breezer uses evaporative technology and provides a dispersal mechanism to homogeneously vaporize recommended CDC water-soluble disinfectants, allowing Cumberland to sanitize its entire facility on a daily basis.
The Coronavirus (Covid-19) has caused appropriate concern across our nation; however, there have not been any operational delays at Cumberland Container, and we will continue to provide our services. During this time of uncertainty, Cumberland Container remains committed to your business and the welfare of our employees and customers. We have implemented the highest standards and best sanitary practices possible. While we have always had an open-door policy towards visitors and customers, we discourage any non-essential visits to our facility until the worst of the corona virus has passed.
Best regards for your health and safety,
Your Cumberland Container Team
